Shoot 'Em Up

Posted by Becca Martin at 01:24 PM on September 10, 2007
"Shoot Em Up" didn't capture the box office last weekend, but it was by far the best film I've seen in months.

Body count? Don't even try. You'll never be able to keep up.

Yes, "Shoot Em Up" is wildly gory, in much the way Sin City" was. But it's not intended to be taken seriously. This, my friends, is a parody of action films, although not clearly labeled as such.

And it's worth every blood pool for Paul Giamatti's performance as a ruthless hired killer who keeps in touch with his apparently very normal wife by cell phone. He is hilarious.'

Clive Owen is the good guy — and the one responsible for most of the bloodsheld. Makes you think...

Understand, this film is NOT for the faint of heart or the traditional of sensibility! But for those who like ironic humor and great acting, it's the sleeper hit of the early autumn.
